Nitrous is the same. The bikes are different and sometimes the kits might be different. I would buy a kit for a large cc single 4-stroke and I bet you can make it work.It will have to integrate the nozzle into the intake tract somewhere. That's where you might have to modify slightly. I have run that stuff alot on street cars (melted lots of plugs, trenched a head and block once) An RPM switch on the autos would work really neat. Set it up to come in about 500 less than full shift rpms. What a great idea. If the alcohol wont be enough, I might just give it a try. Bubba

Haven't run it on the wheeler (YET). But I finally located a gas tank this week and it's on the way. I have a 40mm lectron that I am going to put on my bike. I have messed with the alky on the drag cars and have lots of buddies that mess with it still. Looks like the Klotz oil mixed at about 20-24:1 for the 2-cycles should do it, but being a 4-stroke makes that a little easier. Alcohol is perfectly safe to use and when done right actually burns cleaner. A couple of basics: You need alot of compression to run it to make the most power. It will run off of lower compression, but the higher the better. It takes approximately twice the fuel to run as compared to gas but cost about half of racing fuel. You can also run alot of timing with alcohol. I wouldnt mess with the timing on your Polaris, though. They generally put alot of timing in them from the factory. With the double fuel consumption rate, you'll need to modify the tank as well. Drill and tap the gas cap and install a 1/4 nipple fitting and run a bigger vent hose out of it into the steering column just like the original. You cant move more fuel if it cant vent well. You'll need to remove the petcock assy and remove the screens. You need as much flow as you can get. Look at some older threads and PM alkyburningX. He has a 4-stroke on alky. I saw the thread in another forum about alky that had a good article on this if you want to modify the original carb without buying a new one. If I find it again I'll let you know,Bubba . Hope this helps.

Hey Bubba, I've got a friend who has a 38mm lectron on his big bore 250x which runs racing fuel. He is going to go to a 426 this winter, and I was wondering if that carb could be converted to run alky. He's talked about it, but we don't know to much about running alcohol, so we kind of thought we would just stick to what we know. How much compression do you need to run alky. I've also thought of converting my 400 Sport motor when it goes to my new frame, but I don't know much about it either. Could a 38mm lectron be converted to run alky on a 400 motor, or is this a dumb question? He has a spare carb, and I thought I might take it from him and give it a shot if it could.

400, I'm not for sure on the lectron gas about it being converted. The thread in the performance forum "about methanol" has a good click article on how to modify a carb, but the lectron is a different animal. The needle serves a different purpose and acts like a density meter as well. You adjust the needle to richen or lean the motor. On a regular carb you drill the main jet, there isnt really a main jet in those. I have the number for lectron at work. If you pm me late tonight or in the morning i'll get it for you. Bubba

Hey Bubba, did you call that alky specialist? I think I still have the number Fasterthangas gave me. Haven't been home in..........hmmm that long (laptops rule). I'm probably gonna try the 44, and go from his trials. Like I've said before, learn off of other's experience...cheaper that way.hehe.

Hey......... wait a minute. What does a trail rider need with alcohol? All I know is that i bought mine for $100. na na na. Ken, check out the Cannondale thread "ruled pismo beach". Jay posted as well on that one. I think you'll get a kick out of it. And by the way, I dont care to waste time and figure stuff out on my own. Alot more fun that way...... until it goes boom! LOL Bubba.
