Finally got the zilla running but no lights?

i checked the oms between the the black/white wire and the yellow/red wire and it came out to1.8 oms, book says .5 to1 oms limit. what to do? where do i go? thanks in advance, yannick

From the Suzuki service manual;
Lighting Coil output,
Start the engine and run between 3000 and 8000 rpm with the lighting switch turned OFF.
Measure the A/C voltage between the lighting coil lead wires (yellow - red stripe) and (Black - white stripe)
output should be above 12v @3000 rpm, below 18v @8000 rpm.
(Note these two wires are in the harness from the stator, they can be unplugged at the frame unde the gas tank for the above test.)
Regulated Voltage
Start the engine and run @ 5000 rpm with the lighting switch ON. Measure the A/C voltage between the headlight lead wire and ground. If the voltage is under 13 or over 14 the regulator is faulty.
I had almost the same problem as you. My lights were VERY dim. Bought new lighting coils from Ricky Stator. $53.00 for the pair (130 watts!), much cheaper than stock parts also.
