Default scrammy 90 battery outrageous $$$

The boys little scrammy 90 just crapped out the battery. I called my preferred dealer to get a replacement , $ 80.00 CDN. I almost sh-t. Arctic cat wanted $100.00. The battery is as small as a 6 volt latern battery and to top it off the scrammy is two months out of warranty. What gives with this price ? I phoned all over and the best I can get is 70.00 for a interstate battery. So off I go to drop some coin. Heck, I can get a full size automotive battery for the same price. Other that that it has been a excellent machine.

Have you checked with Rocky Mountain ATV? when my buddy's LT80 needed a battery, they had a sealed one just like factory for 39 bucks American. And that is a battery that will just about fit in the palm of your hand !! Cross reference the battery number with what they carry, they seem really fair on prices for batteries.

I get the battery for my Scrambler at Autozone and I think it's only about $35. Heck it's just a common motorcycle or lawn tractor battery. Anything like that from the dealer is going to cost you too much.

Thanks for the reply guys. I picked it up and it starts like it should. I'd pick the batt up states side, but with the value of the canadian pesco I would take a beating. The local Yammy dealer swung me a bit of a break so I can't gripe.
