Default Sportsman 500 pulling to side

I recently bought my sportsman and have noticed that sometimes it wants to pull to one side or the other. A friend of mine told me that is typical of 4 whell model atv's. I have checked the tire pressures and they are fine. Mostly it pulles to the right and it is pretty annoying because it wears your ares out trying to keep it straight especially on roads

I think your hub is not releasing. If it is a new bike try taking it back to the dealer, although I don't think there is much they can do. When my 335SP does this I just back up a bit and it usually releases. In other posts some people are using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF which I plan to try when I change hub oil.

I have the same problems sometimes with my sportsman500ho.. Just like what the other guy said---stop put it in reverse and go back aways and it will release.

Hi I have a 1993 350L and it does the same thing usually after backing up in four wheel drive. I have found taking it out of 4X4 and reversing hard enough to make the rear wheels spin will release the hub. The manual I have explains what happens and how to remedy it. The new manuals may also provide insight.

What about your alignment? You might want to check that out and it would explain the side to side motion.

If you want to save a buck or two, use Automatic Transmission Fluid instead of Polaris Hub Lube. I was using the Hub Lube for about a year, with typically leaky hubs. After I used the Automatic Tranny fluid, it doesn't leak nearly as much as before. Just an idea.
