need help finding water pump seals and cluch arm
#1
Hi,
I need to find water pump seals for my ds, or a kit to rebuild the waterpump (that magical leaking out of the weep hole). Any ideas for sources? I also have a cracked cluch arm, and I am looking for one of those too. thank for any info

PS.
I just installed the heavy-duty clutch springs from Alba. I haven't had a chance to try them out yet, but I can feel the difference in the stiffer springs when I pull the clutch.

I usually get my seals from my local bomb dealer. However the last time around I got them from Ron Woods. I was ordering my pistion kit and just asked if he had them as well. Sure enough he did. I got both seals and the pump shaft.

While looking at this waterpump with my mechanic we decided that this is a poor design, IF the case is not sleeved.
Does anyone know if the case is sleeved? If not, I am wanting to put a bearing in there.
If this has been brought up in the past, can someone point me in the right direction on what was done to the waterpump and seals and shaft.
Is there any major problems with the case wearing out were the shaft rides?
Thanks

I haven’t heard of or experienced any problems with the case where the pump shaft goes. There shouldn’t be any, since there is no load on the shaft. In fact it is supported by the seals. Where the shaft contacts the case it is in a constant oil bath, that, coupled with no load should equal no problems. I have replaced my water pump seals twice, once out of failure and once out of maintenance.
