Clutch Balancing
#1
I was wondering If anyone knew where I could get my drive clutch balanced? I had my drive clutch apart last summer changing springs and when I tightened the cover one of the bolts broke flush with the inside clutch sheave. I work In assembly of forklfts and broken bolts are a common thing so I did what seemed normal and drilled the broken bolt out and re-tapped it. Well, the thing Is when I drilled It out, I also drilled a little bit of the aluminum In the clutch. I haven't really had any problems since but I wondering If this Is enough to throw the balance off and will I be re-building the bottom end soon because of It? If so, where could I get It balanced at? If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate It. Thanks

Well, you might get mixed opinions on this. If it is just a tiny bit, I wouldnt worry about it. Unless you get a balanced set of clutch weights, they can be a gram or two different from each other. So there can be a slight variance, but always the better idea is to have a balanced assembly. Hope this helps make you feel better.Bubba
