Default Info on 375 auto needed.

Hi All, my AC375 auto started to sputter while riding yesterday. It felt like it didn't want to take the gas at medium speed. At times it would run like a bat out of hell and then it would sputter. I thought it might be a particle of dirt in the float bowl. Now here comes all the questions. I know there might be many different answers but that's ok... Bring em on! (1) Could spark plug cause trouble and what would be the prefered plug and setting? (2) Carb adjustments? are there any on the carb? (3) timing? could that cause my trouble? How hard is it to set? (4) Valve adjustment? how hard is it to set? After the ride yesterday I removed the carb and checked the float bowl for any dirt and found none, that I could see. (4)Is there any type of gas filter or screen in the tank above the gas shut-off? (5) What is a good replacement for the stock air filter? Who's make and model number? If there's something I didn't think of , please let me know! I need to get my cat purring smoothly again. I would take it to the dealer where I bought it from but he sells farm tractors and doesn't know the difference between his a$$ and an atv exhaust pipe! If you seen the service dept, yeow , I wouldn't even take my ex-mother in law there... well , maybe I would... Anyway, that's it as far as I can tell for the questions.. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks everyone!

Sounds like your getting in to deep for a minor problem, my bet is a little water got in your gas.

It sounds like carb trouble to me. Did you check your carb vent hose to make sure it's not getting pinched or blocked off? Did you find any trash in the float bowl? What were you doing when you first noticed the trouble? Were you mud ridin or just cruisin?

Thanks for the reply guy's! All I was doing was crusin the trails! I emptied the tank and put fresh 89 octane gas back in and it did the same... sputter and sluggish.... At times it would run ok and back to sputter and sluggish... I didn't find anything in the float bowl and I checked the jets to make sure they weren't blocked. I'm going out now to check the carb vent hose... I've not been ridin since I checked the carb bowl so I'm not sure how it will run. I just want to check as much as I can before I go out again which will be Thursday afternoon as long as it don't rain... Can the carb be cleaned with regular spray carb cleaner? Thanks again guy's! I appreciate it!

I know this saounds crazy but check your gas tank vebt hose. The ACs have a really long hose and it is easily accesed to water and dust, and if it has trouble breathing it will make this happen as well. I cutt mine off to about 6 inches. It currently has about 12 inches on it. Check that out an make sure
