...You could have filled it with mobil 1 after 20 hours..the new corvettes come from the factory with mobil 1...ford crown vic's come with synthetic transmission fluid...Harley davidson is now selling synthetic motor oil...if your not with the synthetic oils..your behind time...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]...been using synthetic oil/fluids since 1978...

That's true about Vette's... But it is not always recommended to put Mobil 1 in new engines. Many cars come with a special "break-in oil" which is specially formulated to be used in new engines for ~1000 miles in order to help the bearing inserts and rings seat properly. Mobil 1 is so slippery that machining imperfections could cause localized wear in certain brand new engines.

I do use Mobil 1 in both my cars, it's the best.

I just got the 500 2 weeks ago. It had 500 miles on it. It's still pretty new to me though. I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn't wreck the tranny or something.

wapenn, if you are using Mobil1 in your 500i auto, use Moble1 motorcycle oil . The new Arctic Cat synthetic oil is a 0w40 oil and made for wet clutches.

YES, 570 miles is A'ok for the switch over to Mobil 1 motorcycle oil.
