Default How much Dealer maintenance do ACs require?

Arctic Cat owners, I'd like to hear from you.

Here is my situation: I live in a major metropolitan center and all the AC dealers are in rural areas. They are a fair drive away, like 3 hours one way.

However, I really like what I see about ACs. I would be willing to risk it if they only needed annual maintenance. I can perform oil and filter changes, spark plugs and tighten bolts, but I can't rebuild jet engines, if you know what I mean. I am a careful person and do routine maintenance on my car and power tools.

Bottom line: are ACs reliable enough that I can ride and enjoy without frequent trips to the dealer. One or two times a year is fine, more will be hard.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Thanks so much.

LPP

Unless you get a lemon (all brands apply here) you wont have an issue other than oil/filter/reg adjustments. Some people never see a dealer after first maintenence. Just keep fluids changed at reg intervals and ride! When i buy i new one, it will be a cat. (although i can ride my quad to the dealer hehe)

voodoo is right, follow the regular maintenance (in the owners maunal) and you should never have to visit the dealer, and even if you do it is my understanding that most AC dealers are pretty cool, I know mine is great!
