Bought ATV in January 2003, sometimes when shifting between 1st and 2nd
gear the ATV will go into neutral before going onto 2nd gear. I have had my 500 into the dealer 2X ,each time they say they found the problem and it is fixed. Anyone with similar problems or info on who to speak with at Arctic Cat about this problem ,please let me know.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]

 

i have been having the worst time with my dealer lately. My front diff blew and in the process i think i screwed my tranny. i told him to look at it but he didn't. After a month i finally got the wheeler back to find that the tranny is still wierd. It does what you said, mine though more often when shifting into or out of 4th. Also mine makes a huge crunching noise when i am working i really hard. Shifting seems not as smooth as it used to be too. I called arctic cat and that was a waste of time. Take it to the dealer and tell them to fix it right, while they have it then call arctic cat. The lady at arctic cat made it very clear that unless your quad is at the dealer when you call there is nothing they will do! Hope this helps a little. Maybe try changing you oil. check for metal in the oil and on the magnet on the drain plug.
