Default auto or manual?

Do some of you manual tranny owners ever wish you had a auto tranny, and vica versa? Several years ago I had an auto and yeally liked it. Until I read your post on gas mileage and belt slip, I never considered it. It,s been a long time since I used a shifter that I dont remember it .

Default auto or manual?

Sure there are time it would be easier to have an auto like ridding along on a trail and hitting a big mud hole, I have to cram for gears so I don't bog down in the soup. With an auto I can just mash the gas! But then doing some rock trails it is nice to have the manual. Put into low range and with very little gas you can climb over them easily. I also like to run with very little RPM to keep noise down. I can see allot more wildlife that way.

Slipping Belts!! Ya, belts can slip...but from reading forums and ridding with autos, it is usually due to maintenance issues or rider. I have also had others that said they did not want an auto but when they ride they don't shift at the proper times and burn out clutch plates. ALL machines have their limitations, be aware of them and you won't have problems. Then get what you want!!

Snowmachines don't shift or do they? Most dont anyway. I know it's not a good comparison. But I like to hit the gas and go.

Default auto or manual?

I like my auto, anyone can drive it too. But the manuals a peppier and for really slow iddaling around the manual works alot better. The autos are louder too because of were it keeps the engine reved at.

Default auto or manual?

The dealer told me there's less to go wrong with the manual and that its better on gas. Two real good points if you ask me. After reading the gas milage posts on this forum, the manuals can go fifty percent further than the autos on the same amount of gas. wish I had the money to buy one of each. Then I wouldnt second guess mylelf. Thanks for the replies.
