Default something going on with the transmission

I got a 400I 4x4 manual shift, 03, anyway the other day I was plowing snow and after it had ran awhile and was good and warm, when ever I would go from 1st to neutral then to reverse the shifter would not spring back up then it would set there in reverse and not move until I pushed back on the shifter to bring it back up. Well yesterday I was plowing and the same thing happend, after it got good and warmed up, when ever I wanted to go to neutral, I'd push the shifter down and it just stayed down....Hope this makes sense to somebody...thanks for the help!!

I have had this happen also, I realy don't have a fix for you but I can tell you that I removed my shifter, cleaned and sprayed a little lub on the shaft. It did seem to make a diffrence.

When the shifter is down, it is like having it in nutral. That is why your reverse did not work. Hope this helps.

It does help, I appreciate your reply. I was lucky enough to get the 2 year warranty when I bought my bike, so I'm going to take in into the shop on friday to have it checked out, I thought if anyone else had this problem or new what it might be I would be that much farther ahead when I called the dealer...once again I appreciate your reply..

I also had the same problem with my shifter sticking. I talked to my dealer about it and he said the clutch needed adjusting. There is a plate on the right side of the engine that has to come off and then there are two screws to adjust. Your dealer can tell you how to adjust it. This took care of my problem.
