Well I couldn't wait until tomorrow to install the rest of the Highlifter performance kit. First off they don't have any Arctic Cat specific baseline settings included. Read the Dynojet kit you get one answer, Supertrapp has another and Highlifter has more general instuctions. Now I fully realize that this would involve a fair amount of tuning. I started with the highest jet size (dynojet 138) set the new needle to the richest slot and installed the K&N filter. I also put in a new plug so I could check the color. Unfortunately I live in a subdivision, so after three all out blast's from the back yard to the street all my neighbors who are outside having july 4th cookouts were none too enthused, especially with that new pipe.I will be doing more testing/tuning on my buddies farm tomorrow night. I did forget that I needed to adjust the mixture screw out three turns but for some reason I can't seem to locate it. Call me stupid but where is it. I see the drain for the bowl, the idle adjustment **** but no other exterior screws. Am I blind??????

I forgot to mention the performance. I am not dialed in yet but I am noticing some decent gains in power escpecially mid range. All seat of the pants feel of course. I will need to wait until I get set up correctly to comment further.

Mixture screw is located under a cover on the bottom of the carb. You will need to remove the four screws to get at it.

Thanks Jim,
I remember the screw when I was putting the jet in. I forgot to adjust it when the carb was out

Made a few adjustments tonight on the performance kit. Dropped the main jet one size to 136,needle to the #4 slot and mixture screw to 2.5 turns.Seems to be just about right. I will Run a few tanks through it this weekend and check the plug. So far I am pleased with the results. Gonna drag race my buddies Grizzly tomorrow to see if I picked up any ground on him. He normally stomps my hinder. All I need now is that camshaft and I will be ready to roll.

a lot of us here probably are anxious to hear what type of gains you've gotten so far. If you don't mind, tell us what types of differences you can notice.

I with Andy do tell how things worked out. My 400 needs a carb adjustment as it is running a little rich, but I am waiting for Dynojet to release their kit and then I will go to work on the carb.

Cheers Jim

It definately responds better out of the hole. Which is harder to "feel" on the automatic because of the belt lag. I also see a big gain in the mid range. Cruise into a corner at 10-15 mph, punch the gas coming out and it really comes alive, power slides a lot easier. I had the needle set at #4 and dropped it to #3(leaner) it took away some of the midrange but seems to run smoother.I managed 52 mph on the blacktop which is faster than i could run it previously. Generally pulls strong up to 40 mph.I have a ride planned for Saturday. I will check the plug afterwards to check for rich or lean condition. May also pull two of the disc's in the pipe to try and lower the peak power(per SuperTrapp instructions). I think I'm addicted to trying to find the perfect set up.Kinda fun.
