I just picked up my Cat 500 manual this past Thursday, wow, you should see it parked next to my 94 Honda 300 FOURTRAX, it dwarfs it! So far I love it, still getting accustomed to the rocker shifter. My idle is the same as mentioned above, as it gets broke in, the idle will increase. The clutch engages at 800 RPMs, so if the idle is to high the reverse shifter will not release into forward until the idle is reduced. I had to adjust mine already.
