Default AC 400 pulling power

Well all of this good talk about the AC 400 ACT i finally went out and bought one. I only have 16 miles on it but I love the thing already. I have already tested through deep snow and mud and everything else that gets in my way. The stock tires seem okay but I imagine a set of more aggresive tread tires would even make it better. Any suggestions? Thanks again to the forum members for steering me in the right direction.

Upandover, you ask for suggestions? I got one, if you put a more aggressive tire on it invest in some extended fender flares. If I remember right my buddy got as muddy as I and I have 26" MudLites and they stick out like his stock tires. AlaskaBoy.

I would suggest the bearclaws. My back tires are 12" wide, and they do rub the springs when the sidewalls flex. If you're not comfortable with this, I would suggest maybe going yo an 11" tire in the back. The bearclaws are a good tire though, really tough being 6 ply and square edged, so they'll really improve your handling. I found the stock Dunlops to be excessively soft, and the front end felt like it was plowing when going into the corners. Bearclaws fixed this. Secondly, make sure you set you shocks up. I have mine on the highest setting all the way around, and that helped with it feeling top heavy. You may find that it's a cold hearted machine when cold, and you might have to feather the throttle until it warms up a little bit. After a few miles, and playing with the thumbwheel on the carb, it'll get better and better. The motor will "wake up" after about 350-400 miles as well , and seems more powerful than it is now. Whew. Anyway, congrats on your new machine, a fine choice.
