Default AC 650 v-twin problems

Poo's "little" problem: main bearings/crank going out. PLUS they have the same sporadic issues as all other IRS machines with CV's and big tires.

Default AC 650 v-twin problems

the only major prob i have with my cat is the limp mode and it has only come on twice in 150 miles and the one time was at 100 miles when it is supposed to. cat has a fix coming for this and the small prob is that i think cat needs to put more side load on the belt and the dealer can do that, but most people put in clutch kits anyway so that should solve that problem
other than that i like the machine and find it does everything i wanted from a quad.

Pockets:
That is 100 hours not 100 miles. Your Limp mode problem is a voltage spike & according to a Cat Dealer in Utah, he said Cat found the Limp-mode problem, said all it is is a poor ground connection/frame & Cat is in the Final testing to be sure that it is a grounding problem before the fix it sent to the dealers.

anybody want to buy a 2003 500 manual everything has bin rebuilt.
front diff rebuild, upper controll arm bushings, three balljoints, one lower controll arm, 4 rear axels and an airbox.
but its like new now.
im selling my cat and buying a honda.
i cant handel having it brake on me almost every time i go out.
if i road this thing like i ride my dirt bike the list of broken parts would be as long as my arm.
if it dident brake all the time this would be the baddest quad out there but its not.
so now its time to try a honda.

I had a 500i, nothing but break downs and underpowered for the outlaws. Go get yourself a Kawi 700 Praire and slap on those outlaws. I haven't broke a single thing on my Praire with the outlaws, I love solid rear axle quads. Don't go honda though, gutless and overpriced.

EDIT: I see you have gators, slap them on and spin them hard and be confident your quad will not bust an axle.

You guys aren't going to convince anyone here that AC's are not reliable machines. Considering the 650 has the KAWI motor in it, you're shooting yourself in the foot, your Kawi has the same powertrain save for a few cc's. The Polaris riders comments are laughable, good luck with them rod bearings. I can tell you, a grizzly isn't touching an AC 650, even with a pipe on it. The AC is bike of the year for a reason, all you doubters should ride one instead of judging it by the look of the tail light.

Thanks I really need a good laugh after working all day. From what I hear the service shops for the Polaris dealerships are dead because no one is having any problems with any of them.... So why don't we call the Polaris dealership to see if they would mind fixing a AC? Funny Polaris 600's were towed out of the woods just last weekend here... Too early after this weekend to find out how many other Polaris died this weekend. The 650 is a solid engine... I have 1000 hours and 20,000km on my 650 any 700 Polaris have that behind their belt?
