Hi,
I've had my 650 V-twin for 7 months or so, I have had many problems starting after the first 12 miles.
I have 801 miles and 115 hours on it now and have had:
1. Belt went in to limp mode x15 at least
2. Driving down the road and rear left tire fell off ( CV shaft broke)
3. Choke lever broke inside
4. Front drivline broke a u-joint
5. Major carbration problems hard time keepin it runnin on hills, finally got that fixed
6. Many popped tires, solved with 26' ITP 589's
7. Bad battery
But, after all of this I would never give it up I ride with two Grizzly 660's and two Polaris 700's and there problems make mine look good.
in the last year together we have broken 12 cv shafts ( 1 on mine and 4 on just one of the grizzlies ) and 2 u-joints ( 1 on mine 1 on a polaris ) 1 front diff , 1 rear diff, 1 engine all on polaris 700's and take in mind all these machines have less than 1400 miles and are 2003 or newer.
my AC walks all over them in the snow and mud, they have to stay in my ruts while I brake trial. Two of my buddies are considering trading in on an AC.
I have :
2.5 warn winch
hand and thumb warmers
26" itp 589's

I knew it was just a matter of time before this thread went from informative to "Battle of the Brands"
So I'll chime in for laughs...in my opinion, you're not even talking about the top 2, so just for fun my 2 cents
If you go from AC to Pull-yer-***, you will be getting even further in debt.
If you have the right information, you will see Polaris four wheelers are by far the most troublesome joked about four wheeler out there!
Hands down. Read the forums, see how many threads are on problems, Polaris is number one(with problems).
That is the Kawi motor in that AC, I dont' see any problems directly from the motor, seems its all the bike.
I've rode and owned ATV's 20 years, owned Honda, rode with all others, heres my list of quality
1. HONDA- Don't even go there, no dispute the highest quality machine( sure expensive-you get what you pay for, slow, ugly-but quality)
2. Yamaha- 2nd in quality (sure, had their gliches, they all do)
3. Kawasaki-(some ugly stuff over the years, now got it together)
4. Suzuki-(always trying to be the fastest on the track-one of the fastest to the shop)
5. Arctic Cat-(For how new they are, doing well, making fast ditch pickels for years!)
6. Polaris- Dead last, lets throw on more crap, add bells/whistles/much huge ball swelling machines with more CC engine choices to choke a horse and try to hide the fact...Most unreliable, high maint machines ever made.
My vote for Kawasaki Prairie P650 I love it, I can't boast for the quality yet, but the design aspects are second to none.
