Shock Covers
#1
I'm thinking about getting some of the shock/spring covers to keep mud and cow pies off the shocks. How well do they work? Do they trap dirt or keep it out? Also does the left rear hold up to the heat coming off the tailpipe?

I don't have an AC, but after talking to the guys at Highlifter, I called Scott at Outerwears 800-967-3450 and had to order some for my Rubicon. I called on Monday and had them on Friday. They can be put on and taken off without removing the shock. They do keep the mud and "stuff" out of the working parts of the shock. The muffler proximity seems to not be any problem. If you have any questions, call Scott and see what he has to say. Hope that helps.

I have them on the front of mine but haven't looked for any for the rear. The left rear shock just looks to close to the exhaust to even think about it. Arctic Cat has covers to fit the front but to my knowledge, none to fit the rear: probably because it's too close the the exhaust. They do however, seem to do a good job of keeping mud off the shocks.

They actually do make rear shock covers for the semi-indepent models. NOt Arctic Cat but Outwears does. IN James Lucky you can get a set for 40 bucks I believe, front and rear shock covers.
I saw an Arctic Cat 500 in HIgh lifter's Reader's Wheelers with shock covers.
Go check it out, I think it's on the 2nd page.
