Default water on belt?

Was out riding tonight and had a problem seemed like my belt was slipping . Was going through some water not higher than the floor boards, water was splashing up a little higher. Came out of the water and it just didnt seem to want to go. Shifted it in and out of low/high range , went up a hill in low range , seemed like steam was coming out from under , near the air intake for the trans belt box. Drove home (2-3 miles) seemed to get better as we went. Got home took the plug out of the bottom, no water . Any tips you can give or anything else you have done or any other problems you have ran into with these trans.

Default water on belt?

pull the plug on the bottom of the outer tranny cover next time this happens.....if it looks wet or oily something is wrong.

if it's wet it could be as simple as the outer gasket is bad, or more likely your breather hose in the front of the cover came loose and water is running in there

check that out....it should be a simple fix
