Default Arctic Cat ATV with EFI

This may be a double post but I ran across this and couldn't help but post it.

ATV Manufacturer Develops EFI Technology
(January 21, 2003)

Arctic Cat Inc. announced today that an EFI (electronic fuel injection) system has been developed for ATV engines and that implementation still hinges on various feedback from their expansive dealer base and consumers.

Arctic Cat has remained the only snowmobile manufacturer to offer EFI technology on various engine packages until this year and still remains the only snowmobile manufacturer to offer the benefits of EFI on two-stroke engines.

With the expanded use of today’s ATV, consumers are utilizing their machines in extreme temperatures in all sorts of elevation throughout the world. Just like the snowmobile industry, the advantages and benefits of the fuel system when applied to the ATV market become crystal clear. If utilized, the addition would make Arctic Cat the first ATV manufacturer to implement an EFI system on a utility class ATV.

While not determined, the company says consumers would see a price premium for an Arctic Cat ATV with EFI technology. And initial product offerings would be found in the larger displacement Arctic Cat ATVs.

Looks like AC has been considering EFI for quite some time. I doubt the H1 will be EFI but maybe in 2006!

I got it from an online ATV magazine but I assumed it was old news. Just found it to be interesting. The date on the article was 2003 so it was definately old. We'll see EFI next year, no doubt. :-)

i live 15 miles from polaris and 40 miles or so from arctic cat and right after polaris released there EFI system arctic cat's response was we could have a better more reliable EFI system in 6 months i dunno what they are doing behind closed doors but i am willing to bet that they are coming up with a better EFI system i heard from the polaris employees that the polaris EFI system is junk so i would rather have a good one then one that is just offered to me but the snowmobile EFI is a very reliable one

That is totally untrue. The Polaris EFI system is a Bosch made EFI system. I have 1689 miles on my 700EFI and have never had to take my quad back to the shop. I mud ride, trail ride, go in some very deep water, pull, hunt, and fish with my quad all the time. Most of the 700EFI has never been back to the shop, just ask owners. If they have been back to the shop it usally isn't because of the EFI system.

I havn't heard a single complaint on the Polaris EFI. It seems to be bulletproof, and I hear owners say that they'd never go back to a carb. If I lived anywhere near higher elevation, I'd trade for one right now.

Well I've been in water past my the top of my racks and don't think that I wont do it again and take a picture just to prove you wrong. I've had my EFI "wet" many times, in some VERY deep water. I have NEVER I mean NEVER had any problems with my 700, thats EFI or anything else on the bike. It has over 1700 and has never seen a shop. If you would like I will go as far to give you my VIN number and have you call Polaris with my information and you can ask them if I have had any warranty work done. Thanks for your time, and if you want to test me on any of that please just let me know!

I have heard bad things about the polaris efi. I know a guy that had a polaris efi sled, im thinking and will never had one again. Im sure they will get the kinks worked out eventually, but cat has always been the leader in the efi field. When this thing comes out it has to be flawless, because unlike the limp mode fiasco, if you efi goes on you 20 miles out, you cant even limp it back to the truck.

I live in Arkansas so you can tell I know nothing about sleds. However I know that my EFI and my buddy's as well as all the people on the fourms love theres. I haven't heard of any problems with them, go ahead and go to the Polaris fourm and look for EFI's with problems. There hard to find.....
