went to start my atv last night and hit the starter buton. It cranked for a second and then i let off the start button but it kept cranking. I pulled the key out and turned the start button off and it still kept cranking. After about 30 seconds i took the seat off and wiggeled the wires going into thesolenoid. It then stopped. Why was it still cranking with the switch off and the key off and out?? Thanks for any possible help

 

My P700 did the same thing when new even before I got it out of the truck. Mine was turning without the keys and with the switch off. I had to actually unhook the battery to get it to stop. The dealer told me to tap the solenoid and I did. Hasn't malfunctioned since. That's been a few months. Someone told me it was oil causing the sloenoid to stick. Unless you just totally smoked the starter I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
