Should be getting my AC650 tomorrow morning, so I've got to start working on accessories. Any recommendations on the following (what's best or where to buy):

hand/thumb warmer
engine warmer
chains
helmet
cover
roller (for winch)

I really wanted to get a new set of tires too, but this atv thing gets expensive pretty fast! Of course, after looking at postings on some other sites where people are asking if it's even possible to get a 2005 for list, I feel pretty lucky getting the 650 with winch and delivery for $7045 plus tax. Kind of funny that my dealer even started out with the..."well let's see, 7499 list, plus 300 shipping, plus..." at which point I quickly mentioned that I could get one for around 7100. He immediately took a left turn and said "7045 total including the winch". Seems pretty common though that people pay list, or even over sometimes given the demand and the fact that dealers can only order once at the beginning of the year...

Oh yeah...for chains, is it best to get one set or two? Seems like it would be best to have on all 4 tires (especially for steering), but I'd like to get some opinions from people who actually have experience with this.

Chains, engine warmer? Where are you from? I've not used any chains yet, but our snow is not all that bad, and I don't plow it. We are strictly recreational riders. We've never had any real trouble starting our machines when it gets down in the lower 30's but again, I don't know where you are.

Low 30's...yeah, it gets that warm here in the Summer I'm just north of Boston; the coldest, wetest, most dreadful place I've ever lived. Last Winter it was under -10 for about a week.

I believe I'd try and sell the stock tires (Between 100 & 150 dollars I've seen em go for that)Then I'd get some 6 ply tires.Your bike will go and feel so much better.Just my opion, Good luck.

Not to sure about the chains. The engine heater is a really good idea if your going to be using it below zero. I have one and at 20 below the engine gets darn right hot in about 2 hours. In the winter I prefer a windshield to keep the face from frost bite. It makes a big difference. Some of us have abandoned the ATV windshields for 'cruiser' motorcycle windshields. A throttle extension so you can palm the throttle is common, so are the heated hand grips. I've used the handlebar muffs in the extreme cold but I keep hitting the wrong switch and will either restart the motor or kill the engine. Helmet? Yes, a must. Cover - not really unless your leaving it outside. Winch roller? Definetly. I have a GPS, scanner, fishing rods w/reels, gun scabbard, front box, rear box, MRP basket-chainsawc carrier-fenderbox-toolholder, winch, windshield, tank heater, trailer light wiring, and a fire extingusher, tankbag \w color TV am/fm radio, saddle bags and fender bags and HD overload springs. Ya better get started.
Where did I leave those fuzzy dice?
