Default Wheel bearings for 03 500I

I have seen some postings here for front wheel bearings but have not seen if anyone has found a after market wheel bearing that will fit the AC 500I or 600. questions again has anyone replaced there wheel bearings from a bearing store and if so do you have any numbers or does anyone have the size of the bearing. I seen one post that someone did replace there bearings with aftermarket ones on a AC 2001 are they the same? He also did not post the part number used.

Never been exactly where you are, but close. I has some alternater bearings and belt tensioner bearings out of one of my cars that I was looking to replace as I was going through the car. Any way, at one point in time I bought a couple from an A/C Delco supply house. Next time around I discovered a local bearing supply company. Cost difference? About 2/3's. Amazing what that blue and white A/C Delco box costs! When I walked in the bearings turned out to be so common the counter guy just looked at it from like 3 feet away, never touched then, then walked in the back and brougt them out.

Lesson learned. Most of that stuff is off the shelf. Why reinvent the wheel? Make your part to fit off the shelf sizes to keep from paying to have special made bearings built. Plus you don't have to keep inventory when you just have to call a bearing company. My bet, find a local place and they could help you out.

I have a wheel bearing at home from mine, it doesn't say any bearing manufacturer names on it. It says atv and a number IIRC. I'll try to remember to post the number. The bearing was $25 at the dealer. I didn't have time to check into a different scource at the time.

Bearing numbers are usually industry wide, otherwise everyone who makes it uses the same number. However some times manufacturers contract for a special bearing and the contract doesn't allow the supplier to make them for any other outlet. So it's possible it won't be available though rather unlikely. Ther will be a supplier name and a number somewhere on the bearing. Then again those guys at the bearing wholesalers cansometimes measure a beary and match it with something not restricted. But like I said the resticted Items are very few and far between.

The rear wheel bearings on my 03 500i are a double row ball bearing, they say ATV-88-2 QA1 Made in china, that was all the new ones had on them too. They are 25mm wide on the outer race, 30mm wide on the inner race(a 2 piece race), outer diameter of 55mm, inner diameter of 30mm.

Hi
Take the bearing out, bring it to a bearing store and they will find one that fits. The same factory makes most from what I have seen. Now here is one more thing, when you get there ask for sealed bearings yes I said sealed. I did just that and bada bing the shop fond them. I put those in with the a set of new seals ment to go on with the open [crap] bearings that AC puts on for two times the price.
Yes the bearings will be cheaper also.
Good Luck
