For me, I used a tissue to remove my factory 27W High Beam factory bulb and took it to my nearest NAP/UAP Auto parts store. They looked at "its base" and provided me with a 27W and a 50W replacement. I purchased 2 x 50W replacement bulbs within 2 minutes. Not too sure if the exact same bulb base (aka: Socket insert) will fit the front of your '05 AC 500. But, if you remove a bulb and take it to your nearest Auto store (one that has lots on onsite inventory), they should be able to match its base, and provide you lots of wattage ranges for that specific base.
Sorry, but I can't remember the exact bulb number for my 2002 AC 500i.
Note: Use a tissue or other clean material to hold the glass of the bulb. If you hold / touch the glass with bare hands, your hands transfer grease residue to the glass surface. This microscopic grease layer on the bulb shortens its life.
Smitty81503: Check your PM. I sent you a PM with 3 x drill down links that do contain socket size numbers. Not too sure if they are for your exact year of AC but "it's a start".
Hope this helps...

I have looked for the '01 and earlier headlight bulbs and I have never been able to find any aftermarket- both NAPA and Carquest in our area came up empty and I know the guy we deal with at Carquest really spent some time looking for them. Maybe you can come up with something that I couldn't....
Good luck!

I was in my garage today and found the higher wattage replacement bulb "package" I used in in 2002 AC 500i. The replacement bulb I used used in our High Beam only is #181-885" by Wagner. While surfing to obtain a picture, I found a 37.5 Wattage of the same socket size. Cool. For a picture, surf "KYO SuperBeam EX Xenon White 893 Halogen Bulb (893 Standard Wattage)" within: http://www.sromagazine.com/shop/prod...roducts_id=309
If "over heating" is a concern, perhaps these 37.5W bulbs would be much better???
Hope this helps others...
