AC 300 problems
#1
Hi when i put my 1998 AC 300 in neutral it revs up...like the throttle is sticking but i don't really think it is. But when i put it in gear it jerks and slows down again. Any idea what is causing this? The cables seem completely sealed. It also seems kind of hard shifting into neutral when i stop. Thanks for any help, Kevin

Your idle is set too high. There is a black tube about 6" long other than the throttle cable (longer by a bunch) coming off the black cover on the left side of the carb. It has a **** on the end. Turn the know counter clockwise and the idle should drop. If not then you throttle cable is adjusted wrong. Loosen the nut on the cable where it goes into the throttle lever on the handle bars. Turn the jam nut until there is at least an 1/8" of movement on the lever before the engine responds. Then go back and set the idle **** again, idle speed should be no more than 1400 RPMs. As low as posible with out dying while in gear. You may have to back off on the throttle cable again, at least check it again after you get the idle speed down.
