I just read about the 2005 400cc sport class shootout in the May issue of ATVSPORT Magazine. Their test results were as follows.

05 Suzuki Z400 top speed= 57mph
05 Kawasaki KFX400 top speed= 59.1
05 Honda 400EX top speed= 55.7
05 Yamaha Raptor 350= 50.9

You do the math! Your ex must be pretty pimped out to do 68mph!
Arctic Cat's DVX400 did not participate in these test's due to AC's failure to supply Atvsport mag. with a loner quad. I don't understand why they didn't do this! It would have been great publicity! And in my opinion it would of outdone the others!

 

u actually believe that man omg those are soo off my raptor stock does about a little over 60 i dont understand y they wold put things in these magazines when they are off by sooo much... mabye if u but a 6 for the first numberon all of them it would be more accurate

 

Yeah, I know...Just stating what i read...their tests were done a 3,500 feet. I'm about 500 feet elevation in indiana, so i know the jetting would be different and run differently at other locations. All of these tested were using stock jets & pipes. I know my Dvx will go alot faster than that also, but i bet these tests are pretty accurate for stock machines. why else would they publicize this? Have you been clocked by a calibrated radar gun? Cause until you have you'll never know the correct top speed.

 

Get a GPS and you will get much more accurate speed indications than with any speedo.
