Need Some Help with Idle Problem on 2001 300
#11
Cuz, youre doing good, and youre figureing things on your own.
The idle speed hangup is usually due to an intake leak...air is finding a way in by itself. Check the hose clamps, or bolts, make sure if theres an o ring inbetween the carb and intake, its there and in place. Could also be the slide hanging up, in the center of the carb.
How many turns out did the mixture screw end up being? If you get to around 4 turns out from seated, thats about the limit of adjustability, and then you get a bigger pilot jet, to fix that. The pilot jet is the coarse adjustment of fuel, and the mixture screw fine tunes that.
cfoster92, yep, carbs are carbs, they are all pretty much generic, with a few twists. and heres a helpful guide to adjusting a carb, and it also has signs and symptoms of lean and rich.
