Default Adjust the shocks up or down??

On my AC 400, I have the factory adjustable shocks. I want to make the ride as soft as possible. I adjusted the shocks all the way down to their most decompressed setting, but it's still harsh. I was under the assumption that if you adjust the shocks up (compress them more) it will make the ride firmer. Is that correct? Will releasing the pressure on the springs (adjusting downward) soften the ride or make it harsher?

All the way down is the soft setting but you are finding out that these shocks don't really change that much in the settings. That is typical for stock shocks & more so on the Cats. When the time arrives & you need new tires, get a set of the Radials, this will smooth out the ride allot. Over time your shocks should soften up a little bit.
