Default car problem

Ok here we go again.
03 400 auto, was out for a run and when I let off gas idle, came down it would stall when I gave it gas. Maybe dirt in carb, so I cleaned it top to bottom with carb cleaner.
now took it out and will not go over 20 miles hr.
Move air mixing screw to factory setting
Took the throttle cable off found it was loose so I tighten it.
So what is going on here
Thanks

Clean the air filter. Drain float bowl on the carb. If all else fails pull the carb, tear down, clean and reassemble and reinstall.

Just thinking about it, what if I put the float back in upside down would this cause the engine to run like this. was driving today and had time to think about it

I have never seen it done, but it is possible that's for sure. If you are in doubt, you had better check.
