Actually I was thinking if you where going to go with a lift kit, super swamper tires, rims, warn winch, chevy 350 w/tranny, etc, etc, etc; it would end up costing a whole lot more than 3K.

landcruiser 350, lift kit with shocks rough country 600, master cylinder 100, cd player 150, tires 600 33 inch swamper tsl's, winch 800, tie rod and carb kit 200. grand total of 2800. one of my buddies wants the motor in it in the worst way for his jeep pickup so i told him today to find me a good running 350 and we will work something out. oh and i am looking at a soft cab which is another 600 but that is someday down the road.

It don't never stop; next it'll be axles and drive shafts to handle the extra horses from the 350, then light bars, lights, roll cage, extra cables & pullys for the winch, handy man jack, etc, etc.... My brother has a bronco he's invested probable 15K into and drives it about once a year, if that Trucks are a great hobbie but it can get expensive....

i see where you are coming from but the drivetrain on the landcruisers are that of a sherman tank. no need to upgrade that. and yes i was looking at a strap and snatchblock which will cost roughly 40 dollars. in the summertime we will be cruising the land quite frequently and i am also planning on using it for deer season and also pushing snow in the winter. oh i am gonna have to invest in a block heater too.

weez - do you think you'll need to beef up the front suspension to handle the added weight of the 350?

i supposed i could come help you v2 and i don't think i will need to beef up the suspension cause a 350 v8 shouldn't really weight that much more then the straight 6 that is in there. if i do then all i gotta do is add a leaf.
