I found out while in Minnesotas North woods trails that bigger isnt always better. I rode my 650 V2 and my buddy had a sportsman 400. As the trails got narrower, I was bumping and banging and scratching the hell out of my machine on branches and trees. Oh well. At least I showed him up on crawling over rocks as he bottomed out and teeter-tottered with all 4 wheels off the ground. I also climbed a long, steep, snowy hill with the aid of front diff lock, which he doesnt have, and he couldnt make it up the hill until his 4th try! I still wouldnt trade my AC for anything.

i have a 06 400 4x4 auto same size bike and i found that out my second week owning the bike mine has more scratches than i care for and ive only had it a month i mean i know thats what there for but i like my bike to look good. i know every atv manufacturer has strong and weak points but you cant deny the fact that the cat is an extremely capable quad and makes most look weak. i rode last weekend and i never had a problem i rode 10 hrs effortlessly and watched alot of other people get stuck and more. i just bought a 2500# winch but not sure why. it doesnt get stuck i guess i bought it for all the other people i ride with

rango, let me know if your back fenders crack behind your legs like my atv did. I have the same as you only the LE model. I don't know if it's a design flaw or just got the bad pick of the litter for the fenders. Everything else is rock solid.

my back fender cracked behind my left leg because I was trying to go down a trail that got to narrom and the tree got caught up in the fender while i was on the gas. I got some lock tite brand plastic specific superglue and glued the crack. So far so good but i havent beat on it yet.
My only complaint to is that the quad is to wide especialy with the aftermarket tires 51 inch width

kaptap i havent had that problem yet i remember you said that on another post and i freaked out and ran to check but beware i got my bike stuck in a snow bank so bad i had to use my truck to pull it out it was my fault because i could have easily backed out but i decided to dig it in further and further but i used my tow hook on the back side of the reciever and it bent it so becareful pulling with it i decided to buy a hook to leave in there now

One thing people thought I would dislike was how high it sits which would make it tippy. But I can ride at the same angle and over the same things and fly around corners like everyone else without being any tippier

everyone told me the same thing v2 but i find no problem either i watch everyone else dragging over things when i clear them no prob maybe we would see a difference at high speeds but in the trail you dont usually exceed 10,15,20 mph

If you want a pretty, not worth owning machine offroad vehicle then keep the thing parking in the garage. Otherwise just ride it and quit worry about a few little scratches. It's like being a show truck owner or a real truck owner. Real truck owners don't pee themselves if the bed gets scratched.

i agree with you bear to a point i own both the quad and a truck and i cant stand the people buying them for family vehicles and putting rugs in the bed and the trailer hitch is still shiny and new and the bed has never seen anything more than a baby carriage but i cant stand the people that abuse there trucks either i use my truck for stump pulling towing hauling sometimes to the point were the spare tire touches the ground from over loading but my truck always looks good and is clean and i know you buy an atv for the purpose of abusing and wheeling but at 3 weeks old i would still like it to look good its a bit harder to do with the atv and we all deal we have to but it doesnt mean run into the woods and hit everything in sight no matter what the cost
