Default Oil filter cross ref.

I'm looking for an alternate oil filter than the AC version. Anyone have a number that will directly replace this?

You can use the NAPA Gold #1359 for your 03 400. NAPA filters are made by Wix.

More urban myth stuff. If Fram is so bad why does Consumers Union use them as the baseline to compare all the others too?

I've been using Fram filters on my vehicles for a couple years now with no problems or sludge build up. I am using synthetic oil in them too, don't know if that helps any. What's the issue with them? I don't think Fram, or any other manufacturer, will intentionally put out a substandard filter, it's corporate suicide if they did. I'd trust that Fram for filtration before I'd trust a K&N.

Try cutting apart a Fram filter, then cut another brand apart.

This old story has been passed around for years.

If fram was so bad...why havent they been sued out of business? At the least, why havent they changed their design? Its because scientific reasoning, and testing have proved the design to be no worse than any other filter. The failure rate is pretty much the same as any other brand.

If you have more proof against fram, other than brother in law stories and anicdotal evidense, then sue away. Fram is a good american brand, and if you dont like them...dont buy them.

I know K&N has more air flow than fram. But that is expected
