Default overheat problem

I have a 2000 AC 300 4x4 with a overheat lite that comes on once in a while. It's oil cooled, the radiator fins are clean, as far as i can tell the hoses arn't leaking anywhere, any thoughts? thanks

Default overheat problem

Does that thing have a fan? Is the fuse blown?

Default overheat problem

it could be a bad cencer or someting, if it is a 300 you may be riding it a little to hard.

Default overheat problem

I had a high resistance short causing my light to come on once in a while. I have an infared temp sensor (cheap at $50 to $80 at Sears or Harbor Freight) and the motor was fine. Finally found the dirty connector from the insturment head to the main harness in the bike. Cleaned out the corrosion/dirt and the problem has not repeated. BTW, I installed the fan on my 250 (same crankcase and cooling system as the 300) before I found the problem and it changed nothing. But it is a nice safety feature if you ride in hot areas.
