need wiring schematic 2004 arctic cat 500 trx 4X4
hi, I just bought a 2004 arctic cat 500 trv 4X4 and am having some problems with it. If anyone could email me a wiring diagram on this model I would sure appreciate it. thanks
I had no problems then one day it wouldn't start. I had no lights, not even any cranking noise. I did have power to the winch though. If anyone has any suggestions, please help. A wiring diagram would sure help.

Toolman475,
Check that your wiring harness is not bound up in the little channel at the base of the steering column. There is a plug there that can pop off if the wiring harness gets stuck and you turn the handle bars.
It can cause the symtoms you described. It happened to mine after I had the winch installed. Seems like too many wires for that small space.
That particilar wiring channel is easiest to see if you removes the fuel tank. (assuming the fuel tank is not located under the rear plastic)
I also had a wire pinched by where the instrument pod bolted on. Didn't find it until it shorted out the 30amp relay fuse. Fairly easy fix as I think it took me 2 hours stopping for coffee breaks.
I have a service manual for a 2004 so if you PM me your email address I will try emailing you a diagram too.

thanks for everyone's help. I found the plug going thru the steering column partially unplugged and corroded and the ignition module was also partially unplugged and corroded. I'm going to keep the wiring diagram handy. HOpefully we won't need it anytime soon. thanks swampyjunior!

You may also want to go to the auto parts store and get small tube of dielectric grease (don't think that's spelled right). You can put it on all the connections you have and it keeps them from corroding.
