Default Help getting rid of heat

Hi folks , I have a 650 vtwin and the heat off the engine on the left side is unbearable near burnig my ankle,I was wondering if any of you have done any mods to help with this problem I am also wondering if the side cover off a 700 would fit with a little modification or would that cause not getting the heat not getting away from the engine and cause it to overheat any help would be appreciated

You can check my pictures, I took a piece of plastic and cut it to shape and took some glue and glued some aluminum foil to one side (faces engine) drilled a couple holes and attached the piece. Doesn't look bad and it works. (An inner plastic fender from a pickup works great - junk-yard special. One side is usually still shinny).

I also took the little cap off my hood and put a vent there to direct air coming over my hood to go down onto the front of my engine (partly because my winch blocks some air flow to the radiator/oil-cooler). I also cut a hole in the inner fender and put one there to direct air to hit directly on my oil filter. I will have to take some pictures and show exactly what I did.

i have a v-twin and the heat used to be extremely bad. i bought some ENgine Ice coolant and added some Water Wetter. doesnt seem to be so bad anymore. only time its unbearable is if my wife rides with me. if you go to AC you can buy the plastic covers that are on the new ones and take a rotozip and cut it to shape of the Kawasaki engine. Crossed my mind but figured it would just help my machine overheat again. Already has 3 times.

well this hopefully will fix the heat problem . I ordered a side cover off a 700 and with a few mods it fit pretty good and doesn`t look out of place I also took off the inner fender to allow the air to blow through any thoughts on any problems this could cause by doing this mod if I can figure out how to put a pic on here I will
