New AC problems
#1
I picked up a new 400 4x4 a few weeks ago and so far have mixed feelings. The 2nd time on the trails the left rear axle seal at the diff failed...replaced under warranty. Now my display is on the fritz and they want me to bring in the whole unit instead of the display to look at it. I have put it through it's paces and it has performed well for what I want it to do...but if I am going to have to take it in every 2 weeks for work I'm going to be punting this thing and getting a Can Am. Anyone else with issues or is it just my luck that my toys break.

Sorry that you are being disappointed. With the imperfect world that we live in, sometimes we need to just accept that there are others such as ourselves that don't do their job 100% accurately each and every time. One way to look at it, you probably will never have a problem with that particular seal again. With regards to the display, well it is electronic - if only my computer would be as reliable as some other electronic devices.
Hang in there and hope that once the bugs are out then you will have many enjoyable hours of fun on your new machine.
I wish I could be of more help, other than a voice of encouragement.

Unfortunately lemons do happen. It may be a bit early to call yours a lemon, but the 400 is indeed well known for being a very solid, dependable machine. Best of luck, don't let one bad machine ruin your opinion of a whole brand.

You could always just put some duck-tape over the display and not see it... Look at it this way, if you see how fast you are going it will either scare you or disappoint you and in either case it will distract you from your fun... lol ..
Once they fix the display you may never have a another problem forever.

I am just frustrated...I rarely buy anything brand new but it seems like everytime I do something is wrong with it. All in all I'm happy with it, she is a good machine. I can't wait to try out the thundercat when it comes out and see how that 950cc motor goes.

Good luck finding one to try, my local dealer told me that it is highly likely that many of them will be sold before they even get to the stores. If you do get a hold of one to test, give it a good run and report back asap!

07ac4004x4 - Stick by the machine - it's a good one with only minor issues. I have 3800 miles on mine and the only issue I have had is a very minor shifter adjustment that I did myself.

Give it some more time. See if the dealer will let you buy an extended warranty. You lose way too much money trading them in so quickly.
I bought an outlaw last September. the rear hub bushings went after 3 hours, I was tempted to trade it after that and reading about problems people were having w/ the seat and rear stabilizer. The dealer actually talked me out of it, he said I would take a big hit on the trade. His words "give it some time, if you have more problems we'll get them fixed for you."
I gave it more time and I'm glad I did. I love riding my outlaw.

I've had a lot of problems also...I bought my 07' 650 H1 LE on june 2 and I swear the dealer has had it more than I have. I've already had the axle replaced, a fuse blow on the fan, a cylinder replaced because of a factory flaw...making alot of other problems, and now after all of that it wont start. The dealer says that I have sunk it in mud but the only mud its been in shouldnt be anything it can't handle. Unless just a little over the foot pegs is a problem...then I should just get another.
The mechanic is an idiot I believe, i don't think that it is my four-wheeler as much as it is the mechanic screwing up other stuff and not checking things over well.
But I do love it when it runs right, it has plenty of power...
