Default Idea what its worth

Anyone know what I should ask for a 2006 400 TRV with 300 miles on it. I did crack the front fender below the shifter and had it plastic welded. TRV is in very good shape! Never wrecked and oils were changed every 100 miles, except the first change I did at 25 miles. It has a 3000 LB Viper winch, heavy duty front and rear bumpers, maxxis mud bug tires. Not sure what to ask for it.

Bugmud i couldn't even begain to give you a price with out looking at the quad , but you can get a free quote at www.nada.com - or at - www.kellybluebook.com ; you can find out what the trade in value is and what the fair market value is from these site's ! They start with the year make and model including the value of any extra's like the winch , heavy duty bunber's , front and rear and better wheel's and tire's ! They go by the look's and shape your TRV is in also , icluding any damage big or small it all count's when getting the valvue of your quad ! ....................

ATV's are a little different than cars and pickups in that they are a severe duty vehicle, meaning that they are pushed to the limits more often.

Pricing would be basically based on miles and condition. A two year old with low miles that was in mint condition would definitely be worth more than a 6 month old that was beat.

Here are some hard facts - your machine probably is worth about 1/2 of what it was new. Not nice to hear but by reality probably more accurate.

From new you have to eliminate the dealer profit and deal from cost. Then for each year that it is old you need to deduct a realistic price. (probably 500 to 1000 per year).

I have read that people have bought new left over 2006 for about $3500 - that being the case a TRV may bring more money depending on who wants one. (I would pay more for a TRV but someone else may value it less than a regular size and view it as a compromise)

One of the best ways to sell it, is to bring it to a reputable, large, car dealer and have them sell it for you. They will want a good commission to do so (probably around $500), but they can provide financing for a buyer and they can also take a trade-in where as you can't. A smaller used car dealer may want less commission, but has less resources available to them also. A car dealer will sell anything as long as he can make some money, and by taking it on the arm so to speak (consignment), he invest nothing to have it on the lot.

Anyway some food for thought.
