Warn sticker

Well, I didn't put the sticker on , and my controller is on the raised bar under the speedo and it works great when winching from on the bike. Mainly put it there so as not to lose any rack space and it's easy to reach when spooling cable back on. A couple weeks ago I crossed a creek that was to high and floated my Cat down and sucked water into the air box. When all finished was on wrong side of creek. Had to cross lower down in a shallower spot ,which in turn ment I couldn't reach the creek access trail,I then had to winch up a 20' creek bank back to the trail... I road the bike while winching due to the bank being straight up.... Would have made a great adverticement for Warn and AC. I'll try to get some pics up this weekend...
Cowboy, Awesome snow pics. Snow looked real fresh and powdery.. Our snow usually ends up Wet And then freezes ,which makes deep snow x tremely hard to go in..Still want to try and make it up to your area to ride.. Maybe this winter I will be able to get my cousin up in North Western Wash.. to go with me...

Retreaver:
Yeah, the snow was fairly fresh. Had about 12" fall two days before we got there, then an additional 6" the day I went up. I wouldn't call it powder exactly, as it was a little heavy, but it sure was a blast to ride in!
Hey, anytime you make it up this way, don't hesitate to give me a hollar. My property is clear across the state in one direction, and I've got family in all other directions, so I'd be willing to trailer if need be, just let me know!

Andy, you posted earlier you didn't think much of winches and only got one because it was a sales promotion item when you bought your quad, that you carried no winching accessories because they cramped your riding style, calling ****** block talk gibberish.
Since you started a topic on the best position to maximize the artistic effect of the Warn winch logo, I conclude you've changed your attitude toward winches, now accepting and promoting winch use. What caused the change?

WTF??? Where the hell did this come from? First off, the winch sticker thing is pretty much a lame topic to begin with, and even still would probably fall under a "cosmetic" type thing.
Then back to what I said about a winch about a year ago. Yeah, I got it for $100 as a promo. Yes indeed, I wouldn't pay $300+ for one either. I never said that I didn't like winches though. I'm still wondering where you picked that up at. I use mine some, and it has pulled me out of stuff a few times too. Thing is, if I didn't have it, I would probably just not go in a few places. Its useless right now because the switch is out, so basically, I just don't put myself in a situation where I would really need it. Its not a must for me by any means, but it is very nice to have. Basically there for security if I get into a hairy situation.
I haven't had any change of attitude or anything. As for the ****** block, I don't use a winch enough to warrant paying for a damn ****** block. Why that seems to be a problem for a few select people, I have no clue. Yes I understand its use, and yes, it is a good thing to have, but I don't have one, and I don't really need it either. More $hit to carry around in my opinion. For others, its fine. I don't care if somebody carries a stuffed giraffe around on their quad. Thats their business. What kind of answer were you expecting with that post?

Nope, that idea came and went (for like the 3rd time). Basically just couldn't justify taking the loss in trade in for what I was getting out of it. In other words, the only things that I was looking for in the Sportsman was speed and 4wd traction. Ground clearance of course was another factor, but after making the skid plate, I'm not worried about beating the rear end up anymore.
I still would like to have the sportsman, but for now, the only way I would have it would be if I could afford two different quads. My budget at the time doesn't allow that. I have a perfectly good quad, and though there was one week that I just almost went and traded, it still passed me by. I just really can't justify adding more payments that aren't exactly "needs" when I'm paying over $400 a month on a damn truck. Maybe get rid of the truck and get another quad and a less expensive truck! Not really, but that may be the next thought that crosses my mind when spring comes and I start riding more and getting more into it again. Who knows. The Polaris would sure be fun though.
