Does anyone know if 27x12-12 Mud Bugs will rub when mounted on the front of an AC500?? They will be mounted on factory rims, no lift, no spacers.

Any rubbing while turning sharp or with a heavy load in front?

They will PROBALY rub the shocks when turning, but with more weight on the bike the less it likely they will rub the shocks. I don't think they will rub the fenders unless you you get spacers, this was the case with mine. After I got spacers they did rub when crossing ditches at higher speeds.

They did rub the Ox-lite boot guards very bad when the suspension was at full drop and the handle bars were turned. It didn't damage anything, but the side bitters on my claws would make a loud poping noise when this happen.

If you need anything else just ask.

Thanks Boner.....I was using your bike as a measurement tool. However, the Bugs would be about 1" shorter and 1/2" narrower (26.5x11) than the Tri's (27.5x11.5). I was hoping that there was someone out there that had this exact combination and could comment on it.

But thanks again!

You mean 27" tires??? Yeah, the 27" tires will fit standard stock AC rims, no problem what so ever. I couldn't afford fancy new rims, and the riding I do, I'm affraid I'd just ding them up anyway, so my 27" Bi/Tri Claws are mounted on the factory AC rims. Great fit, no problems.

One question though: Do you do mostly mud riding? Just curious, I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to bet that if not, you probably wouldn't want a full 12" wide up front. My Bi Claws (9.75" wide) steer ALOT easier than the stock 489's, as there is less rubber on the ground. But, with a 12" wide, it might be more of a bear to turn. I doubt you'd be very happy with that setup for normal trail riding.

Anyway, just a thought. Best of luck,

Mike

Thats a no for both questions.

My factory wheels are 12x6.5". My Tri-Claws are mounted on ITP 12x7" steels.

Thanks for the Help Guys.......

Cowboy - I do mostly trail riding but I do find some pretty ugly swamps to cross.

I'll probably mount the 10" in front just to have that easier steering, since the majority of my riding is on trail.
