In an old post about a AC 300 they discussed lengthening the linkage to give it three different settings. One was 2wd, the next was 4wd, and the third was locking the front diff. Is this possible on a AC 500? Does it put any of the parts at risk of damage? Does this differential work like the front differential on my Honda Rancher? Are they the same mechanical design? Any riding techniques you use to get the most out of it in tough conditions?

No.

Entirely different animals, differentials from 250/300's and 500's.

Pity.

Nope, you can't shift to a locker on the 500 models. I believe it was Cowboy who tested it him self and it failed to work.

I'll back this one up again, the 300 and 500 differentials are different. I tested mine and there are only two positions, not three.
