Default think my belt is fried???

i have been taking it easy on my 04 650 v2 recently. last winter i pushed snow with it and this summer i just kept it in low range doing yard work. well i took it down the road today in high range and i kicked it down and it bogged down and made a clunking noise in the belt casing. i then took off slower and it would creap up past that point and i could still get 60 out of it even with the clutch kit and big tires. i am thinking it is my belt but what do you all think????

your linkage needs to be adjusted. these 04 650's are notorious for that. its just your tranny slipping out of high gear.

i can feel it wind up and then clunk clunk clunk and i let off then i go on the throttle slowly and it will go without playing with the shifter.

wind up? when going down the road? when it happens have you tried to adjust the shifter to see if thats what it's coming from? you should be able to feel it if you put your hand on the shifter and slightly move it around. when mine does it, I have to slow all the way down, almost to a stop, before it will go back into gear. is yours anything like that?

-also, how's your clutch kit? do you like that spring set up? cause I want to get one but not sure which springs to get...

actually by the way it is i am about 100 percent sure it is just the belt probably coming apart. and i absolutely love my clutch setup. i got the stock springs and i dunno why cause there is no way i would ever go back to the stock setup. just pink primary and black secondary from epi or i think the website is erlander or something along those lines.

I guess just pull your belt cover off and see if it is your belt. If so, I heard that you can get the 700 belt and it will last longer. lil more durable.

Did you install the springs yourself? Did you get just springs or did you do rollers also?

just springs and i did it myself. i made a clutch compressing tool for the secondary clutch and the primary clutch has 0 compression on the spring so it is very simple to replace. and i already ordered a belt i got a dahlton, it is no big deal that it won't last long cause i will probably be selling this wheeler soon anyways.
