1998 atrctic cat 4x4 454 I need a service manual if any one has one. I've got a 2000 model manual but a few things are different. Also dose anyone know if a 500 CDI box will work on a 454. I need the oum readings to test with.

 

Hate to hear you still having problems. I can't see or hear it run but my gut still says fuel issue. Are you getting a solid flow from then gas tank? I had a 4-stroke dirt bike do the same thing and the fuel cut-off had some trash in it from old fuel. Also, is the vent tube clear? It's a long-shot but I've had that happen also. The tank wasn't venting and fuel wouldn't come out fast enough at higher RPM's.

 

well I appreciate it, the vent tube is not an issue any more it has broken off and left a nice hole, andI cleaned the tank this morning the screens were clean and i had a good fuel flow, but see in the 2000 manual it shows a screen just under the needle valve, I havent checked there yet. I hope I dont have to go back in to the carb to many more times I dont think my screw heads were made for everyday use.

 

If the screen before the needle and seat is clogged, that would cause your problems. The engine would be fuel starved due to poor fuel flow to the bowl. Some carb cleaner sprayed from the needle and seat side will take car of that.
