What tire for snow plowing and general trail use?
#1
I need to get a new set of meats for my 2001 AC 500. I plan on getting a 2" High Lifter kit and running 26x10 tires. What tire should i go with? Mudlites, 589s, something else?

i would say for all around use plus the traction to plow go with a mudlite or swamplite for a cheap tire. or for a lighter tire go with the maxxis zilla (not mudizilla just zilla). all of which are mud/trail tires and will work great in the snow as well. or for tire reviews (including trail and snow) go to http://www.offroaders.com/tech/ATV-Tires/index.html

I was looking at getting some new tires myself. Right now I have mudlites. They are great in the mud but for causual trail riding it is ruff. I have been looking at getting the Carlisle 489s anyone have any thoughts on those.

I would go with the mudlites. But I would keep the front tires at least 1 inch smaller than the rear. Something like in a 26inch tire 10inch wide front 12 inch wide rear tires. For some reason I have found that the steering is easier when you do this compared to having the same width tire all the way around.
