how hard is it to replace right rear axle? I have an AC400 and the right rear axle shaft broke about 2 1/2 inches in. It messed up a couple other things but the axle is the biggest problem.

What all is involved with swapping the axle since I've never done one on an ATV before. (plenty of trucks and jeeps though)

axles are easy. remove the hub and the axle will pull out of the diff with a sharp yank. its held in by a circlip. putting the new one in is as easy as lining up the splines then while pushing in on the axle give it a few lite taps with hammer

 

Well the hub kinda came off with the wheel! (along the the bracket for the rear brake cable and a couple smaller things that broke in the process!) the axle shaft is about an inch and a half inside the housing so there is no grabbing hold of it. Do I now have to take the axle housing loose at the differencial housing?

Also, any good place to buy an axle cheap? (good used one is what i'm looking for)
