Ok got starter and all that going good, but now when it is running is runs like total crap. you stop giving it any gas and it dies. I was wondering if not having spark would cause this "no power what so ever" state it is in?
cuz remember it didnt have spark before i messed around with the starter. if this was to be the case(no spark) would it be the coil?

Fish-

did you ever resolve your issue? I have an 02 400i and am running into the same problem ( along with a few others that are minor). but I came back from a ride the other day and left the machine idling for a minute and it just shut off. Nothing like a choke out, just like i turned the key. I had no spark so i started with the plug, and still nothing. I'm beginning/hoping that the problem is just the ignition coil. Is this what you found?

And I don't know if you discovered it or not but that 30amp fuse is on the starter relay. you have to lift off that plastic cover and its right on top.

Even then, I'll check 3 different places, see if they price match and see if they can give you shipping charges before you order.
