What's the biggest tires you can run...
#3
Thanks for the quick reply. I've got a set of 28" Silverbacks coming next week. A friend went into the US and brought them back cheap. With the dollar at par nowadays, and tires way cheaper south of the border, it was a good deal. Well, I think it was. About $150/per tire on average. My 2009 700 H1 is snorkeled with a kit from Yasky, as well as chipped. I might have to clutch it as well, to help make up some low end grunt I'll lose with the new tires. I'm running 26" Kenda Executioners right now, and while they are a really good tire, I'm hopping on board with the taller/narrower tire for mud, as opposed to the shorter/wider combo you get with the Executioner. I may still go with the 2" High Lifter lift kit, but will wait until the tires are on to see. I'll try and get some pics up of the whole package once it's done.

I spent 14 years as a machinist before switching trades. There are a lot of things I can do, but this kind of specialty work is learned from years of trial and error, and the fellow at Airdam should be commended for it. Maybe this Winter I'll contact him about my clutch. I don't ride much from November to March, so it would be a good time. I'm getting my 28" Silverbacks this weekend, and will have them on for the following weekend ride. I'm not worried about top speed, as it's not really my thing, but if I lose as much low end grunt as I'm expecting going to these big mud tires, a clutch rework may be in order. Thanks for the info.
