Default I think its a carb issue

My 04 250 has been sitting for a month since I burned up the CDI, Voltage regulator and coil. I replaced it, redid the melted wires and it started right up yesterday. It ran fine with the choke on, but once turned off it would die. Sputtered the next few times I tried to start it, but now it will not start, turns over fine. It ran fine before all this happened. I checked for spark and it was there. Leads me to believe fuel issue, if it were a wiring issue I don't think I would have spark, correct? Any thoughts?

still a carb issue like it's been stated.........but what concerns me is that you've burned up some of the voltage system. hmmmmm, i wonder what has gone awry? crossed wires, grounding issues, electrical surge? accidental mismatch on battery posts? mismatch if jumping of the quad from a car battery? hmmmm....don't read nothing into my words, just thinking out loud to eliminate possibilities. i'm just trying to figure out how that stuff burned up.
