My friend just bought one of these big piles. He has had nothing but problem with it. And now rear cylinder is dead. Sound like something in the valve train but not 100% sure. Does anyone know anything about these engines. I have been searching around and can't really find anything of value. All I could find is that they are know for water pumps and starter problems. Also the clutch is crazy noisy on it too. We are going to open the engine up tonight to see what we can find. Any info would be great. Thanks

 

Welcome to the forum darren i just caught your post i've been busy working on lawn and garden equiptment and haven't had much time for anything else , if i'm not to late i would check the valve specifications first before tearing into the engine , it could be that the valve clearance is to tight causing one of the valves to the rear cylinder not closing all the way ; this could be the problem , i hope this help's and i'm not to late to save you the extra work not to menition part's !
