The Snow Ball Effect
#1
My buddy Ron (Sparky), son Alex and my self spent last weekend riding in the last of the snow. We had a blast inspite of the crappy wether (sleet & wet snow)and a break down. On Saturday afternoon while hill climing in a gravel pit the main driveshaft bearing on the Warpony failed. So on Monday I started on the repair and I find that the LR wheel bearing is shot so I replaced that, so I better check the RR wheel bearing,, yep thats shot also,,,gezz I need new break pads two. Hmmm I replaced the LF wheelbearing last fall so that should be OK but I had better check the RF,,,,yep thats shot,,,geezzz I need breakpads there to, oh no looks like the boot on my ball joint (not my cv thank god) is riped. After talking with Boner I had better check that,, yep to much play there better replace that. See what I mean about the snowball effect. :/
Well thw warpony has about 5500 miles on her and it's best I make these repairs now before my son and I take off on our trip to Utah.

Damn Scotto! 5,500 miles on your 'Cat, that's doing pretty good. Sorry, just had to post a new topic on most miles, see if anybody can beat ya! heh heh heh. Anyway, sorry to hear about all the things you need to replace, though considering the stuff you ride in, 5,500 miles is pretty good I think. Good luck getting that all fixed up before your Utah ride in June. So what tires are you running now-still the 28" Outlaws, or have you switched to something else? Did Alex pick up those 27" 'Claws yet?
Best of luck,
Mike

Mike,
I finished the repairs on the warpony yesterday. It drives me nuts if she's layed up more then a day or two. I'm still running the 28" Outlaws and Alex should be getting his 27" Tri-claws before our trip. I just won a $200 gift certificate at Highlifter for a photo I submited on www.atvmasters.com "Mud Maddness" photo contest so I'm giving this to Alex to apply towards his Tri-claws.

So why did you pick the Tri-Claws over all the others??
About the mileage. I'm gonna have to see if I can find my First "Cat's Pride" magazine. There was a rancher that owned his AC 400 for 4 months and already had 4500+ miles on it. He had converted the throttle to the left side(for roping) made a few custom mods to the racks, and a custom wire raiser on his front rack(would direct hanging fence wire over the handle bars). Only thing he ad ever had to do to it was chang the oil and gas it up. Never even adjusted the valves or clutch.

HEY!!! What Scotto didn't mention is that his winning photo was taken by my wife and he never even offered to share his prize with her!!! AND she needs major mods to her quad to catch up with us. Just KIDDING Scotto...she made me do it.
Sorry to hear about all the repairs, but its better now than when you are 1200 miles away from home and have to pay some dealer to do the work while you sit in the camper and watch Alex ride.
Are you going to get the Warn bumper that you linked to me? Oh yeah, T.S. 2001 is last weekend in April...a good date ,eh?
