Depends on the situation. I had 27" Mud Machine Bi/Tri Claws on both my Arctic Cat and then held them over for my Grizzly. Good mud tire, terrible in the woods. They dig like a tiller climbing hills. Stock Dunflops always did better going up dirt/leaves, loose stuff in the woods. They were a great mud tire though the few times that I actually rode mud, but each tire has its own place. Brake trick never once worked for me, but I was generally on a hill with a front in the air and what little grab it was going to give wasn't going to sustain long enough to pull me up and over. The diff lock on the other hand alleviated that. Haven't used it much, but it worked in those few times I needed it.

 

Andy, there is 1 trail I take up a mountain that gets steeper and steeper until you have to lean way over the handlebars not to flip. At the top it breaks over and you can unclench. Now, on that trail I'd like to have the diff lock! 1 guy in a Jeep, pitch poled going down last year. So Gusgusa, you should post up a picture of the Brute Force, nice find!

Looks good. Looks like its got some pretty nice tires on it too, even if they are mismatched. Mine was the same way, I have mudlite ats on the front and swamp fox tires on the rear but they were almost brand new. Looks like you have swamp lites on the front and Gators on the rear? I wish the 650 had that little mesh pocket on it. The only onboard storage is a little box under the seat, much like what the Grizzly 660 had.
